So it is obvious the religious group "Opus Dei" have a large part in the plot of the Da Vinci Code. They are the organization that is responsible for the assassination of Sauniere and there are many references in the novel to them being involved in scandalous acts. I wonder what this group is looking for considering the lengths they are going to find it. Also, will this mysterious thing give them power, money, or some sort of other power.
I find it kind of ironic that this group is one devoted to following God, yet they commit sinful acts such as murder.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Connor, I think that it is a warped form of Christianity that relates to different interpretations during biblical times
ReplyDeleteHowever, although they do kill people, throughout history religion has been a known cause of war and homicide. Countless people have died from religion so it does kinda make sense that it would still happen even in the modern setting of the book
